ALTA VERITAS was founded in 1991 — among the first private law firms of independent Kyrgyzstan. Over thirty-five years we have advised Kyrgyz companies, industrial groups, banks, investment funds, international organisations, and trading houses from Europe, China, the United States, and Central Asia.
Since 2014 the firm has been ranked by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500; since 2021 it has been named among the leading law firms of Kyrgyzstan by Pravo-300 International. In thirty-five years of practice, the firm has never once been party to a court dispute of its own. For a law firm this is no formality: reputation is the one asset that cannot be restored.
We stay with a client longer than any single project lasts
A company we incorporated we may, ten years later, advise through a transaction — and, if it comes to that, through reorganisation or closure. This changes the nature of the advice: a counsel who knows he will still be at the table does not propose solutions that are convenient today and dangerous in three years.
We are small by design
We are few, and that is a deliberate choice. It means your matter is handled by a partner, not by a third-year associate under general supervision; that a difficult question is decided in hours, not passed through four levels of approval; and that we take on not everything, but only the work in which we can genuinely deliver a result.
Standards of service
A reply to an initial enquiry within one working day. An estimate of timing and cost before work begins. A designated partner for the whole relationship. A conflict-of-interest check before any engagement is accepted. Working languages: Russian and English. Progress reporting at an agreed cadence — without being asked.

ALTA VERITAS is a firm of the law of the Kyrgyz Republic: opinions, agreements, tax positions, regulatory approvals, and the defence of clients' interests in disputes.
